Kaph
|
|
Character Name: |
Kaph |
Numeric Value: |
20 |
English Transliteration: |
kh, k |
Signification of Character Name: |
The hand bent |
Kaph is transliterated as 'kh'. A dagesh (dot in the center) makes
it take on a hard 'k' like that in the word "king". Without the
dagesh the sound is more like that of the 'ch' sound made by the
letter Heth. When used as the last letter in a word Kaph appears
in "final form" as displayed on the lower right of the flash card
(similar to an upside down, backwards 'L'). Kaph is pronounced much
like the english word "cough".
