Our Corporate Goal

Introduction to the Polytechnic
Extended over 30.5 hectares of land is Nanyang Polytechnic. It is situated right next to Yio Chu Kang MRT station which offers the convenience of travel for staff and students.

The modern-looking campus together with its state-of-the-arts facilities is constructed with the concept of a town center, to provide all the conveniences of a self-contained “Teaching and Learning City”.

Some of the facilities found in the campus include a fully computerised library, specialist laboratories, a 300-seater Theatre for the Arts and a 1,200-seater auditorium. The staff apartment is also located within the school premises for the purpose of providing their residents the ease of proximity.

Feel like going shopping? We have a wide range of merchandise goods to cater to your shopping needs. Goods ranging from foodstuff, stationery, gift items, sports goods, etc can be found. We even have personal computers on sale!

For those who are keen in sports, we have a track and field, adventure challenge park, gymnasium and rock-climbing premises to enjoy all you want, of course not at the expense of your studying time. Want a less strenuous sport? We have badminton courts for you to play badminton, as well as facilities for you to play table tennis or basketball in our air-conditioned sports hall. If you are looking for a swim, then go dive into out Olympic-sized swimming pool.

The green landscape and cool ponds provide you with the serenity that you may need when you are too exhausted from your work. Coupled with its high-tech orientation synonymous with an educational institution of the millennium, Nanyang Polytechnic is your definite choice of a one-stop center for learning and interaction.

Our History
Nanyang Polytechnic was established on 1st April 1992 and it’s first batch of pioneer students was enrolled in July 1992 for its School of Health Sciences and School of Business Management. Two further departments were set up at a later stage, the School of Engineering and the School of Information Technology. The French-Singapore, German-Singapore and the Japan-Singapore institutes were transferred from the Economic Development Board to the Polytechnic in February in 1993. At this stage, the Polytechnic operated at five campuses namely Bukit Merah, Jurong, Outram, Tiong Bahru and Yishun before moving to our new and permanent home at Ang Mo Kio in April 1998.

Currently Nanyang Polytechnic occupies 30.5 hectares of land which is about the size of 60 football fields which is meant to house a capacity of 12,000 students and 1,400 staff members. The polytechnic has 14 administration blocks, three blocks for recreational and student development purposes and three blocks for staff accommodation.
