Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, as the name states, is located by the bay
of Marina. The design of the building, to some Singaporeans, is similar to a
durian, so call the king of fruits and is likeable by the locals. Esplanade
is considered a collection of arts and music where concerts take place in
the Concert Hall of Esplanade. With a total of 1,800 seats, the Concert Hall
is an ideal place for a diverse range of music performances.
The Theatre of Esplanade caters 2,000 seats and with a design similar to a
horseshoe, it is known to be the largest performing stage in Singapore,
where performers will be able to perform freely.
There is also a Esplanade Mall with many retail, food and entertainment
outlets. It is the only shopping mall in Singapore that makes an art-related
shopping experience. A library specially for performing arts,
library@esplanade features prints, visual and aural materials of
broad-ranging nature.
All I can say is that Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay is a place for art and
music lovers and should not miss it.
